This is the slow march toward permissioned domination.
I want to counter this permissioned domination with #nostr #safebox. Before we know it, any digital interaction will require a permissioned app on a permissioned device, permissioned by the state (especially in the EU). The assumption is that you will be KYC-ready for all your payment needs and service access requests.
With #nostr #safebox I want to go in the opposite direction. I want to build a permissionless, device-independent wallet that can do payments by default, and if required store data and credentials that might be required by the state (driver’s license, for example). For me, it’s a hard No!, that I need to use a permissioned app on a permissioned device.
We seem to be careening down the path that the phone in your pocket is not only your surveillance device, it’s the state’s ultimate gatekeeper to your rights, privileges and funds that can be shut down at will.
I don’t want the future of permissioned domination, do you?
