The two most profound philosophers/works that have relevancy to #nostr are:

Marshall McLuhan: Understanding Media
Nikolaev’s Luhmann: Trust and Power

Interestingly, these seminal works were published in the mid-sixties, early-seventies and I’d say that we don’t yet understand the full implications of this ‘electric society’ we are in.

I am trying to crunch the key ideas into my #nostr efforts. At the risk of sounding over-simplified, here we go:

1. The nsec/npub enables the extension of the self into the digital realm.

2. The model (signed events) is the medium that shapes us.
