I just finished a real zinger of a book, "Case Against Reality" by Douglas Hoffman. I am now getting into the math in the appendix.

Full disclosure, I am an engineer and look for cool things to apply. #Nostr piqued my interest a couple of years ago due its signed event relayed architecture and self-generated keys.

Without going into detail of the book (you can google the summary), the nugget I have taken from reading is that I can implement a 'conscious agent' - really an extension of myself into a network of conscious agents - which are self-extensions of others. #nostr, namely NIP-01 has the right primitives to do this. No, the network itself is not conscious, it connects everyone together without fear of being hijacked by an intermediary platfom. FWIW, I am now applying this theory into the #safebox application I am building. By no means perfect, but I see an entirely new architecture to build digital capabilities of myself - not some rented space from a platform that can turn on me at any moment.

Anyway, just wanted to share. I see the future as bright!
